DR. TROY MICHAEL VERGES, DDS
Dr. Troy Verges, native of New Orleans, graduated from LSU Baton Rouge in Microbiology. Then he attended Louisiana State University Dental School completing his DDS degree in 1997.

In his second year as a dentist, he owned his own practice in Kentwood, Louisiana, where he practiced for 20 years. Constantly growing and expanding Dr. Verges opened a new location in downtown Amite, Louisiana in 2017. The new dental office is a renovation of the town’s original pharmacy and post office building and is over 100 years old. He is proud to be part of the history of Amite.
Dr. Verges has 23 years of experience. His passion for the more challenging fields of dentistry include oral surgery, root canals and orthodontics. He takes great pride in the care that his entire team has for each other and their patients. Dr. Verges and his staff are highly trained and are always mindful of their patients’ needs and comfort. They pursue continuing education voraciously with monthly and quarterly office meetings and even traveling for specialized training. Dr. Verges lives in Covington, LA. He loves spending time with his 2 sons, Owen and Spencer. He runs in the mornings with his Goldendoodle, Shep. His hobbies include being outdoors, running, watersports, skiing, camping, and most recently learning the guitar. Among his many personal interests, health and wellness are a top priority, which overflow into his interactions with his staff and patients. He is always concerned with the health of the whole person.

DR. SARAH RUSTOM
Dr. Sarah Rustom is a patient-centered dentist with a strong commitment to providing personalized and comprehensive dental care. Dr. Rustom prioritizes patient comfort and education, ensuring every visit is a positive experience.

Dr. Sarah Rustom was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She attended Texas A&M University and graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor of science in Nutritional Sciences.
Dr. Rustom then went on to attend The University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston and completed a 1 year General Practice Residency Program at Montefiore Medical Center in New York where she gained additional training in general dentistry.
Outside the office, Dr. Rustom is passionate about community outreach and enjoys volunteering her time to provide dental care to underserved populations. She has been to many dental mission trips to Nicaragua and Honduras.
In her spare time Dr. Sarah Rustom loves baking, work out classes, and spending time with family and friends. She is very excited to join the Lotus Dental Team in Covington!
MEET THE TEAM
LOGAN SLAVEN – REGIONAL MANAGER
Logan Slaven attended the Accelerated Dental Academy in Hammond, LA. and received her Dental Assistant and x-ray certification in 2018. She has been working at VDC since January of 2019 and has received her EDDA certification during that time. In her 4 years, she has grown from dental assistant, to supervisor, and now to the office manager. Her favorite thing about VDC is the culture of teamwork and making patients the first priority. She is most thankful for the opportunities to grow and continue her education with VDC. When not at work, Logan is spending time with her husband Hunter and their children Karter, Fletcher, and Nate.
ASHLEY PARKS – HYGIENIST
Ashley Parks has been working as a registered hygienist at Lotus Dental since October of 2021. She attended LSU School of Dentistry graduating in 2020 during the midst of Covid-19 where she received her Dental Hygiene License. She has attended several classes with the practice to continue and further her education. Ashley feels the most unique part of working at VDC is how everyone on her team is genuine and truly cares about every person they meet. When not working, she likes to consider herself to be a “homebody” and says you can find her hanging out at home with her husband, Timmy and her two dogs Blitzen and Remi. What Ashley enjoys about the work she does is meeting new people and being able to manage their viewpoints on going to the dentist and providing a positive experience. Since working at VDC, Ashley feels she has gotten more comfortable in her role as a provider, which allows her to individualize each patients experience and provide top notch preventative and proactive dental care.
JASIE SIMS – SCHEDULING COORDINATOR
Jasie Sims graduated from Sumner High School in 2018 and received her Associates in Business Administration from Northshore Technical Community College in 2021. Jasie is eager to join the team at VDC as Scheduling Coordinator. She is excited to be working with a great team and looking forward to meeting all of our amazing patients. She loves meeting new people and making them smile. When not working, Jasie loves spending time with her friends and family especially her golden doodle Beau Joseph.
JESSICA CHAIREZ – DENTAL ASSISTANT
Jessica Chairez graduated Accelerated Dental Assisting Academy in 2018 and also became certified as an expanded duty dental assistant the same year. She says she enjoys being a part of a team who is fun, caring, positive, and passionate about their work. Jessica has professionally grown at VDC by gaining new skills and experience.The joy she receives when caring for patients, making them feel comfortable and helping them get their happy smile again is what she enjoys most about what she does.When not working, you can find Jessica spending time with her daughters, baking, swimming and having movie nights!
